Charterhouse Brings "GH Entertainment Awards" This Year
On Sunday 12th January, 2014, host of the only Sunday radio entertainment programme – Flex on Pluz in Ghana, Samuel Atuobi Baah, asked the PRO of Charterhouse, Mr. George Quaye, if it’s true they have plans of birthing another award scheme called Ghana Entertainment Awards.

“Yes it’s true we shall be organizing another award scheme called GH Entertainment. It’s actually something we conceived two years ago but we were still putting the pieces together behind the scene. God being so good, GH Entertainment Awards shall come off this year hopefully before the first quarter of the year ends.

“We shall be launching it before this month – January ends and after that, more details of the award would be made public or available to the media. What would be so different from this award and Ghana Music Awards?

“Well unlike Ghana Music Awards, Ghana Movie Awards, Radio and Television Personality Awards, and the other awards which are specialty awards, GH Entertainment Awards is an award scheme designed to award people in all the different sects of our creative arts industry.”

“We shall be awarding players in music, movies, broadcasting, Art writing, event producers and directors, painting, graphics, a little sport and others,” George Quaye intimated.

Indeed, this award promises to be one with a broader scope compared to all the award schemes we have in Ghana

Whether on your face, neck, hands, or body–your skin is your body’s first line of defense against external elements. While it is natural for your skin to change over time, there are many measures you can take to support having healthy, hydrated, and nourished skin. By making the changes below to your daily habits, you can protect your skin and reverse some of the damage that has already occurred.
No Tanning
In case it needs to be restated, tanning beds are an all-around no. Not only do they put you at a significantly higher risk for melanoma, but they also damage your skin, leading to premature wrinkles and leathery skin. If you are going to be outside on a sunny day or lounging at the beach, slathering on some UVA/UVB sun protecting lotion with a SPF 30 is a must. This will protect your skin from sunburn, damage that leads to premature aging and heightens your risk of skin cancer.
SPF Is A Daily Must
Many people do an excellent job of wearing SPF protection when they’re out in the sun for an extended period of time, but often forget that SPF is a daily essential. Despite a cloudy or overcast day, the sun’s harmful and damaging rays still shine through the clouds (roughly 70 percent of sun rays). To protect your skin, you can use a body lotion with built-in SPF protection and facial moisturizers or makeup with added SPF protection.
Eat Fruits and Veggies
All fruits and vegetables contain powerful antioxidants that help eliminate harmful free radicals in the body. Fruits and vegetables can be eaten fresh, frozen, as fresh-squeezed juice, or blended into a smoothie. For the days that you are unable to eat the fruits and vegetable servings your body requires, you can turn to fruit and vegetable supplements, or all-natural and sugar-free powdered drink additives.
Hydrate
If you have ever seen a grape that has rolled to the back of your refrigerator, to be found months later as a dry shriveled up raisin-like object, it is an excellent example of what happens to your skin when it does not get the hydration it needs. Hydrating your skin happens both internally and externally. Ensure that you are eating fruits and vegetables that are high in water content such as melons, citrus, and grapes. Also ensure that the majority of the liquid you consume on a daily basis isn’t from artificially sweetened juices or pop, but from water and electrolyte-filled beverages.
Externally, it is important to apply body lotion at least once a day, particularly after bathing. The lotion you use on your face should be used only for your face, and not on your body. It should be non-comedogenic, and contain ingredients such as vitamin A, vitamin C, and retinol.
Wash Your Face
The delicate skin on your face needs to be washed with a gentle facial cleanser in both the morning and at night. While the thought of splashing your face with water at the end of a long day is sometimes the last thing you want to do, it is vital for keeping your skin healthy, hydrated, and wrinkle-free. When you skip washing your face, the makeup, oil, and dirt left on your skin clogs your pores. This often leads to blemishes and skin irritation. Also keep in mind that your skin repairs itself while you sleep, making it imperative for your skin to be clean and hydrated with a facial moisturizer before bedtime.
The above changes to your daily routine can all be achieved in only a matter of minutes, but will leave a lasting impression on the look, feel, and overall health of your skin.
